What is EasyHarvest?
Web-based booking service for farm machinery making use of optimal conditions based on real-time geolocation of resources and farm-level data.
As an output of IRRI's seed grant program in 2017, we set out to build an uber-like platform for booking farm machines, in this case, combine harvesters, while also considering factors that affect yield losses and timing efficiency.
The web implementation is made up of PHP and MySQL. Map geolocation is provided by Google.
The android app version is built with Cordova/phonegap
Both implementations use third-party GPS devices that are powered by global satellite communications and provide an API for pinging locations periodically.
